Tierra del Fuego – it is said Magellan named it - Land of Fire - after the actual fires light by the local people on the banks of the Beagle Channel. I think its more to do with the fiery-looking mountainous environment and rapidly changing fiery weather – from bright scorching sunlight to biting wind and rain – all seasons in the blink of an eye. British weather has nothing on this!
